Shakes for peace

Welcome back!

I love shakes. Not only are they yummy but I think they could promote world peace! Think about it… after you have a good shake you’re pretty much one of the most agreeable people on the planet. We went for shakes after FHE tonight and it was great. The kids get so excited to order what they want and then when they get their shake they start to spill and make a mess but they also they make those funny pucker faces while they try and suck Oreo chunks through a straw. I love shakes!

I thinkt the all-time best shake flavor has to be Oreo & Carmel. Anyone, anyone?! What is your favorite flavor? Leave a comment and let us know!

Cats

For years I have heard about “Cats.”  I’ve heard it is one the longest running Broadway (and London) shows ever.  When we heard the production was coming to the Captiol Theater in Salt Lake City Natalie and I thought it might be fun to finally go and see the production.  My Mom’s birthday was coming up and we thought, hey, that would be fun to take her to see the show with us… so, Natalie got some tickets (right down in front) and we were all set.

Well, here we sit at intermission looking at each other with confused looks. Both Natalie and I looked at each other and said, “I don’t get it.”  I guess there is some deep meaning that high-brow theater-goers get out of it but we seemed to be missing it.  It was mildly entertaining and there were a few engaging moments, but on the whole we didn’t think it was very compelling.

We did get lucky though and our ticket purchases were not a total waste… sitting right in front of us was a woman who just absolutely LOVED the performance.  She was VERY enthusiastic; whenever the audience applauded she almost jumped out of her seat as she pounded her hands together.  As the event was drawing to a close, and I got more and more excited to leave, the woman in front of us was just sobing; tears streaming down her face she litterally JUMPED out of her seat at the closing moment as if to say that she was responsible for the standing ovation that followed.  All I can say is, “wow.”  As we left I told Natalie, “Well, we got two shows for the price of one!”  That lady was the only thing that made the evening bearable!

Face Melter!

Wow, I just got this little app called “Face Melter” for my iPhone and it is awesome!  Now you can waste hours on your iPhone making your friends and family wish they have never let you take their picture!  Here are some I did of my family.  Hope you laugh as hard as we did!

Superhero

The other day Natalie was talking with Porter and was trying to help him understand Moms and Dads. He was being a little bit sassy and kept telling Natalie she was the dad (he knows better than that but was being silly).

Natalie, thinking she was pretty clever, gave an example to set things straight with Porter, “When girls grow-up they become moms and when boys grow-up they become dads. So, Porter, what are you going to be when you grow up?” There’s only one concievable response to that question, right?

Matter-of-factly, without a moment of hesitation, Porter responded, “A Superhero.”
