There is a turn-off for Kolob Resevoir about half-way between Virgin and Springdale. You head North on that road for several miles to the trail head. You can see the road on the map above. We did a one-way hike starting from the "top" and hiking to the bottom where we left a car waiting. Yes, this hike starts outside of the park. We were there last summer, but I don't recall a hike called the subway. I would love to do this one- Was it a one way hike where you had to have a vehicle waiting or was it a round trip hike?
